The Bathurst 1000

Bathurst...for many motoring and sporting enthusiasts the name conjures up memories of racing heroes young and old, and of course the legendary Mount Panorama track that each year captivates an October weekend of sport. The 2017 Super Cheap Bathurst 1000 was once again a cracker of a race. Right from the beginning there was a sense that come 6pm we’d all still be glued to our TV’s watching racing folklore repeat itself. I’m really glad that this years winner was a Holden, even more special was that the winning team is a relatively small outfit who in true David and Goliath style were able to fend off their more fancied opponents...once again the race came to life in the final hour with several Safety car periods bunching the field up and building tension...Kangaroos, high speed crashes, rain periods and drama filled the day and once again for me Bathurst prevailed...well done to Erebus Motorsports David Reynolds and Luke Youlden a race well won and well deserved!
