Anzac Day in the Macarthur Region

Anzac Day in the Macarthur Region

I’ve got to say the Macarthur is looking very beautiful at the moment. If you get up early enough you get to see some cracking sunrises as the mist settles into the valley’s nooks. It makes me a little melancholy as we approach Anzac Day… When I see such a sunrise I can’t help but be reminded of the rising sun badge worn by our Army so valiantly throughout the ages. I tend to think of brave men and women in far away lands seeing their own sunrises and pausing for a moment to be warmed by it’s glory. It makes me extremely proud to know that in recent years, dawn services around the Macarthur have been experiencing record numbers of attendances, particularly from our youngest generations, and that the legacy of them continues lives on. We each pay our respects and celebrate Anzac Day in our own way, whether it’s attending the dawn services, watching the marches, having a few quiet one's with some mates or just pausing as the sun rises over the trees… Either way, we will never forget.
