Wests Tigers win by a landslide as our lucky winner watches on

The Annual Mater Dei Gala Ball was held at the Cube on Saturday night.

Once again it was a great celebration of the spirit of the Good Samaritan School, its Benedictine order, its students, teachers, families and supporters.

Themed a night of Champions, we were enthralled with several performances from the students, past and present as they showed just how unique and special each of them are. Supported by the current School Captain Kieran as guest MC, the night went off without a hitch! Kieran certainly has a bright future in whatever he chooses to do.

Past parent John Adam, gave one of the most inspiring speeches I think I have ever heard. As he told of the challenges his family faced throughout the upbringing of their daughter and not being able to understand how they could help until they learnt to see the world through the eyes of their daughter. It was, as always an inspirational evening, a credit to our wonderful community and a fitting farewell to School Principal Tony Fitzgerald, one of the very best. I’m pleased to say the evening was able to raise some $320,000, a huge sum of money which will be well invested for the future of this wonderful school.
