General Winter Maintenance Tips

Taking care of your car in Winter

As I drive down Camden Valley Way of a morning, it is very apparent that winter is upon us. The average morning tempreature seems to be quite settled between 4 – 6 degrees… which means the heated seat feature is on high for the entire journey to work! When winter comes around, we all like to stay nice and toasty inside our homes...and just like us, our vehicles are also not so fond of the cold weather. If you have found your vehicle isn’t running as smoothly as it usually would, the winter weather could be to blame. Here are some general maintenance tips to check to make sure your vehicle is safe in the winter weather:

  • If you have noticed any stone chips in your windscreen, these are more likely to turn into cracks as the tempreatures drop of a night. Noticing and fixing these early can avoid replacement of a new windscreen.
  • Make sure you check the air in your tyres, the pressure can fluctuate between summer and winter.
  • Also, if you have not had your battery checked regularly, it is more likely to fail in winter when trying to start your vehicle.

If you would like a winter safety check performed on your vehicle, come down and see the team at Paul Wakeling Motor Group or Camden Valley Motors...we are more than happy to help keep your vehicle running safely throughout the winter months.
